On May 1st 1959 Giuseppe Marcolini opened a pastry shop in Stresa that soon became renowned amongst the local population and tourists who, each year, flocked in increasing numbers to sample the sweet delights on offer. The shop is currently run by his son Mario who has followed in his father’s footsteps, preserving the artisanal art of pastry making and increasing production and the range of products. The most important specialities are the “Margheritine di Stresa” and the “Dolce Antonio Rosmini”


To celebrate the beatification of Antonio Rosmini, the Pasticceria Marcolini has created a biscuit dedicated to him.
The new Saint spent the last years of his life in Stresa and this little town on the shores of Lake Maggiore is home to the International Rosmini Study Centre.
The biscuit has a light, crumbly texture with a full, yet delicate flavour.
Abundant chocolate chips and cocoa, special favourites of Antonio Rosmini, are added to the mixture.
